Troubleshooting: Hyperlinks

Text is displayed but link is missing or isn’t working

- Check to see if the link path is correct

1. Open the page in preview mode

2. Hover over the link in question and check the path in the lower left corner of the window

- If link path is missing/incorrect, open the Rich Text Editor, highlight the link in question, select ‘Remove Link’

- Re-insert the link, click 'Accept', and open the page in preview mode to verify the correct path is now showing.

 

Most Popular Link, Featured Item, or List Item - Sys Admins Only

External Link Missing/Broken

- Clear link and re-insert making sure to include Description and Alt Text

1. Navigate to and open the link item in Sitecore's Content Editor view

2. Verify the link path under "Link Item Data" is correct

3. If incorrect or missing, select the 'Clear' option

4. When re-inserting the link - the LINK DESCRIPTION and ALTERNATE TEXT must be filled out - Links will not appear correctly if either of these fields are missing.
